Plant Notes

| Last updated: January 2025 |

The botanical name of this plant is now Senega paniculata, with Polygala paniculata as a synonym. It is used in traditional medicine for asthma, bronchitis, arthritis, and kidney disorders [1]. The root smells like root beer. This species has been growing in my pot for years, and I keep it because its leaves and flowers are visually appealing. The plant drops many seeds, ensuring its continued propagation.
